5 Reasons Why Defunding the Police is a Really Dumb Idea

Recently many people are shouting and chanting "Defund the Police". I see that phrase and my mind imagines streets full of Thieves, Robbers and Rapists running rampart through the streets looking for victims. Then I snap myself back and think "Nah" they cant mean actually to get rid of the Police? If that is what they want to do I have to say that its really a fucking stupid idea! I mean do you even have a plan on how to take over if the Police are actually abolished? Who is going to do their job? Is there going to be a salary because most people will not risk their lives for free and not only that they have financial obligations to take care of. Policing is a 24 hour job so your dumb ass can feel somewhat safe that when you get in trouble someone shows up or is in the vicinity to help. 

I'm starting to think that many people are acting on their emotions when it comes to the police. Yes, i understand about police brutality being real. I have seen it many times growing up in the inner city. I have seen them shale businesses down for money like gangsters and some even get involved in Drugs. In reality those crooked cops are few and far between. I also have friends who are Cops as well as family members. So believe me not all Cops are bad. 

Growing up in the inner city I have barely been bothered by the Cops let alone got my ass beat by one. The times I was stopped by Police I usually kept quiet and only answered the questions the Officer asked me. The media and certain groups will make you believe that all Cops are dirty when in reality the majority of them are not. You also have to understand that they have a dangerous and stressful job that they have to do everyday. 

I'm going to go out on a limb and probably piss many people off by saying this but from the videos I have seen countless times sometimes those beat downs are deserved. If you are acting crazy and irate what do you think is going to happen? True, the Cops do need to restrain themselves and not shoot to kill or beat to death a person. I believe the issue needs to addressed that the Police need to have better and longer training before they become Cops walking a beat. I believe that if you are a Cop that you get to know the people in your neighborhood and understand them. 

And if you are a Cop and you kill someone then the Cop should be sent to jail. The only reason why a Police Man or Woman should shoot or kill someone if the Cop is being fired at or the assailant is beating the crap out of the officer. Other than that there is no reason to shoot or kill someone.

That being said here are the 5 reasons why I think Defunding the Police is stupid:

1. Laws whether Social or Governmental will need to be enforced. 

Yes, the Police are there to enforce the laws and statues that their bosses may constitute for the people to follow. Without people whose job is to enforce the law who will do that? The state or city you live in will fall into disarray. People will not do what is expected of them and everything will be a free for all

2. Patrolling the Streets

Without the Police who will patrol the streets? Are you going out there to risk your life to make sure that everyone around you feels safe? Are you going to handle the Criminals alone, day and night for free? No Health Care or Pension? I think not! Yes I understand it seems that they are not doing their job but in reality they are doing the best they can. They basically are a bunch of baby sitters who  are there to watch you and make sure you don't hurt yourself or others. 

3. Who is going to help you is you get robbed, murdered or raped?

Again people are not really thinking with their heads they are allowing their hearts to decide what is the right thing to do. If you defund the Police who is goign to keep the peace or prevent a robber from taking your $600 Jordans you just bought? lets be for real folks we all know if the Cops are no longer around its going to be dangerous to be walking around in the "hood" even during the day! That's not a life to live to be honest. Being a Prisoner in your own home. Think people think!

4. Who is going to prevent vandalism to your property?

When your house gets robbed who are you going to complain to? when your Car get broken into or stolen completely, who are you going to call? These are questions you should be asking yourself. Who is going to take charge of this job? I understand many people died at the hand of the Police but they are a necessity out here in society. 

5. When the shit hits the fan, who is going to show up?

This question alone should be considered because when the shit hits the fan you want someone who knows what to do and who to call if needed. 

In the end we can shout in anger all we want but until we can figure out who or what group is going to take over the policing in this country what we have now is what we have to deal with. What we need to do is come up with better training and laws to have them be more responsible with how they treat people in the communities they are supposed to keep safe. 

Its a sad thing that a man had to lose his life so that we the people can wake up from our La La Land and face reality. Reality is a harsh Mother Fucker and it has no filter! So when you see the Police acting wild record them, shout at them and remind them that they work for you and not for themselves.
